At Dewsbury Arts Group we’ve been treading the boards and oiling the canvas since the early 1960’s, striving to bring theatre and art to the local community. We’re proud to have a somewhat unique identity as an arts society that not only showcases it’s love for amateur dramatics but also boasts members who excel in visual arts.
It’s this multifaceted nature of the group that helps anchor us to our objectives as a Charitable Organisation as stated in our constitution: “To foster and promote the maintenance, improvement and development of artistic taste and the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the arts among the inhabitants of Dewsbury” You can learn more about where we started as a group, and where we’re at now in the links below.
